Dr. Gassner is the only USA – accredited facial plastic surgeon (ABFPRS.org<\/a>) practicing in Europe. He received his full residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA and his subspecialty fellowship training at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Gassner has a valid medical license both in the USA and in Germany. Currently Dr. Gassner is an attending physician and director of Facial Plastic Surgery at the department of ORL, University of Regensburg. Dr. Gassner\u00b4s field of interest include reconstructive facial surgery in children and cleft surgery. Dr. Gassner has participated in surgical mission trips serving underprivileged populations in India. Dr. Gassner\u00b4s is dedicated to teaching and training. He has been instrumental in developing the EAFPS fellowship training program in Europe, as well as the European Board certification process.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gassner has authored numerous respected scientific publications, including chapters on nasal surgery in the world\u00b4s most reputable textbook in facial plastic surgery (“Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery”, Papel, 3rd Edition, Thieme, Stuttgart – New York). Dr. Gassner\u00b4s scientific papers are frequently referenced. Multiple innovations described by Dr. Gassner have found global acceptance, including chemoimmobilization of healing wounds, the complete release approach in nasal surgery and prelamination of the forehead flap in nasal reconstruction. He organizes “Finesse in Facial Plastic Surgery<\/a>“, one of Europe\u00b4s largest international courses in facial plastic surgery that attracts world reknown teaching faculty and a large audience of training surgeons from around the globe. Dr. Gassner is also the director of the Regensburg EAFPS fellowship training program in facial plastic surgery.<\/p>\n
