WHY 

Africa has the highest ratio of surgical disability in the world but the lowest capacity to provide surgical care. This capacity is even worse when sub-specialty surgery is needed.

MISSION

The mission of the Foundation for Special Surgery Europe and its sister foundation in the US is to provide the highest level of sub-specialized surgical care to patients in Africa and other underserved regions. The Foundation is committed to being the leader in training the next generation of sub-specialized local surgeons in the region by enlisting the participation of surgeons across various specialties to provide premium care, skills transfer and education to benefit patients and the long-term sustainability of the health care system.
