For many people around the world, access to safe, affordable healthcare remains an elusive dream. The World Health Organization estimates that about 2 billion people globally do not have access to lifesaving healthcare. The lack of access to care is particularly worse in Africa, where some families have to save money for years just to be able to see a doctor or specialist.
FSS mission trips brings specialized surgical care to those who do not have access such care. Surgical missions also provide training for local surgeons and healthcare providers. Training equips local surgeons to provide much needed specialized care.
